A traditional Madeira House in Loreto, arco da Calheta.

A Madeira house that belonged to Fatimas Aunt and now for you and your friends or family to enjoy a few days in Madeira. There is a public parking area for your vechicle next to the church in Loreto. Easy access to the house from the parking area. You will encounter a typical madeira home, go up some stairs to the upper level. Upper level is where the people lived and lower level is where they kept their vegetables and the wine the made in September.

The neighborhood

The houses are just off the regional road 222 which heads to the well known Rabacal area were there are many beautiful walks. About 30 minutes up hill walk you will find the Levada nova.

Near the houses are some local stores for you to buy any groceries you require.

The restaurant Naye is a 2 minutes walking distance whereby they prepare you a delicious meal.

If you are up to the challenge, you can walk down to the Calheta beach which takes you 30 minutes to walk.

Getting around

I recommend you rent a car as Calheta has very few public transports. The car is parked in the public parking area. If you want to have a relaxed holiday and do not want to travel, this apartment is good as everything is nearby making for a good stay.
